Shadows weave the web that binds me
Falsely in thought, in truth I’m free
Do I dare trust escape is near?
Whisper my love, the trees can hear
Gentle moonlight, pray conceal me
And let my secret rest with thee
Would that I could put down my fear
Whisper my love, the trees can hear
Go, get thee to your hiding place
Tread with care, not a sound, no trace
Though it may seem your way is clear
Whisper my love, the trees can hear
Winds have set the trees to swaying
Go, there’s danger in delaying
Swiftly and surely, disappear
Whisper my love, the trees can hear
Wary of the daylight’s greeting
Grace gift me a while yet sleeping
Smiling your blessings in my ear
Whisper my love, the trees can hear

Felt like a good time to break from the acrostics – halfway through the alphabet – I’ll return with ‘N’ tomorrow 🙂
I can just hear you read this poem out loud. Amazingly beautiful! The acrostics can wait when something this precious wants to be expressed 😉
Bless you sweetheart, thanks, and hope to hear your voice soon:-) Have a fabulous weekend. H xxx
Lovely 🙂 I see you find something slightly unsettling in those moonlit trees too.
Thanks very much – indeed I do, though that takes nothing from their beauty 🙂 H x
Yes! The moonlit tress ARE a bit unsettling — revealing when one wants to hide. They fit the poem perfectly. It feels very medieval. Loved it!
Thanks so much for this thoughtful and enthusiastic comment! I’m so glad the poem suits the image well for you, and yes, there was a feeling of a bygone time as I wrote this, but then poems with such a strict structure seem to bring that out in my writing. Thanks again, and blessings on your day 🙂 Harula x
Beautiful, Harula 😀
Thank you my friend 🙂 H x
