And so I gently nudge

Cajole, caress, the door of your heart

Closed firmly with the locks of fear and pain

Even now, to open a little more,

Prepare itself to play willing host to a troubled world

That can not change without first being

Acknowledged, seen, felt for what it is

Not wished away or denied (we’ve all tried)

Can you offer yourself, arms wide, to it all

Embrace life in a love both wise and brave
