Is every way a circle?
Does every leaver know
obligatory as in breath
they’re all returners too?
Too close to see the whole
of my journey back to you
grow wider as I waited
loading freedom’s backpack with my pain
some days I catch a scent of you
a salty promise from the shore
where beginning and end blend
to argue softly over footprints
for we’re just so much
land and sea, I need
to dance and play in sight
of your rock steady stillness
tossing mending gifts
at the seams of your safety
blurring your edges with
each landing, rush and run

This was the second poem I caught today, for I gave the first to the following competition…which is still receiving entries until midnight tonight if you’re interested!

Wow. Tough question. Is every way a circle? Perhaps so, perhaps so….

It’s really interesting. I never intended that to be a tough question…but it seems to be one that has interested others. For me it seems clear, and I came across another wonderful reminder recently when I reread T S Eliots famous lines, ‘We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.” And…who can argue with the Lion King’s ‘Circle of Life’… π Warm hugs to you dear Pam, H xxx

Every way can’t be a circle. For example, my wife often calls me a square.
Good luck with the competition, my friend!

Hmmm, I think you actually being square is a mathematical impossibility, but maybe you could doodle some proof. Well…there’s the seasons, there’s life and death, there’s the sun moving around the earth, there’s those things you look for that definitely aren’t where you first look for them until you’ve looked everywhere else and then find them…exactly where you started. You want more evidence? π H x

Is every way a circle? I want so much to say yes. I suspect it isn’t, but I want it to be.

So nice to ‘see’ you again Kathy π Personally, I experience more and more ‘circles’ – including the frustrating ones when I recognise an old habit I’d thought I’d done away with and moved away from, and the beauty of knowing however far I wander off, I can only ever end up at the beginning again…home. π H x
