Welcome to day ten, for which I’ve chosen the word Carols, because my Mum’s just been playing some on her flute to get into the spirit. Enjoyπ
And…why not have a go at a Christmas acrostic yourself in the comments! I’d love to read yours. I also love to receive suggestions of Christmas words to use as the basis for the next acrostics I write, so please share your favourite festive words in the comments too, and then come back to read the poem!
C hoirs sing sacred songs with voices like
A ngels, whilst I drone on about
R udolph, and chimneys Santa gets stuck in
O h come on all ye faithless lot!
L isten! They only come round once a year!
S ilent nights are hard to come by at Christmas:-)

A perfect acrostic for me today too as we were also practising Christmas carols … well, when I say ‘we’, my son was playing the music on the piano and I was joining in with the words π I remember Santa getting stuck up the chimney! Now that one does take me back a few years π

I’m glad this fitted for you:-) Sharing music as a family is precious isn’t it, and I am a sucker for the classics but I DO love when Santa got stuck up the chimney:-) Glad that took you back. Happy Carol singing dear friend:-) Hugs, H xxx

I’ve been reading all your acrostics, but this one really touched me. I miss Christmas carolling — it was such a part of my youth, and gave such pleasure. We didn’t stay in the church — we went out, into the neighborhoods, hospitals and such. It was wonderful.

Thank you for this lovely comment, I so appreciate you reading these poems and I’m glad this one touched you. I too find it such a pleasure to share these songs. Last year my mother and I visited a care home a friend of ours works in, Mum played the flute and I sang whilst the residents joined in. It was loads of fun. A good reminder to do it more often, not carols necessarily, but singing together in general:-) Blessings of the season to you! H xxx
